A successful tinnitus (tinnitus assessment) management plan starts with a proper diagnosis and evaluation of tinnitus. Common auditory conditions that can lead to tinnitus include Otitis Media Effusion, Otosclerosis, sudden sensorineural hearing loss, Meniere’s disease, noise-induced hearing loss, presbycusis, acoustic neuroma, ototoxic drugs, vascular system disorders, head injury, Temporomandibular joint disorders and other systemic diseases.

90% of tinnitus cases occur with hearing loss. A hearing test and GP visit should be the first step in your tinnitus assessment.

In addition to routine pure tone and speech audiometry, Sandgate Hearing offer a range of audiological test can help assess the health and function of your middle ear, inner ear and auditory pathway. The test will determine the pitch and loudness of your tinnitus. We understand the impact of tinnitus on your life cannot always be measured by the scores of test results. We include a formal questionnaire to determine the severity of your tinnitus and how much the impact on your quality of life and ability to function.
