Microsuction Earwax Removal

Earwax is a mixture of secretions from sebaceous glands and sweat glands. It is produced in the outer part of ear canal. It gradually moves out of the ear, carrying dead skin cells and other debris. Most people have one of two types of earwax.

Wet earwax is sticky and yellowish brown to dark brown in colour, while dry earwax is crumbly and grey to tan.

The presence of earwax can reduce your hearing, but also cause itchiness, a blocked ear sensation and can cause your hearing aids to work inefficiently. We perform a micro-suction procedure to remove earwax. No water is used in this procedure.

Our audiologist has been trained by Dr Vorrath (ENT) and accredited to cerumen management in audiology practice using Vorotek O Scope. We are equipped with video otoscopy, Microscope and Microsuction equipment to perform the procedure safely.
